- Went to Pryce's gym, got Peep to evolve in the third room. Passed up on having her learn Thunder Punch.
> PEEP: Flaaffy -> Ampharos
- Fought Pryce. Battle went pretty smooth. No casualties, although Sync III took a significant amount of damage and Peep needed a hyper potion.
- Flew back to Goldenrod (thanks Zuma) and decided to do the Pokemon trade with Jose there.
> Traded away: BERTHA
> Received: Muscle [F] (Machop)
- Went through the Team Rocket-controlled radio tower. Fought Executive Petrel and got the location of the director and the key. Stopped by the Pokemon Center before going there.
- Got to the basement and did the rival battle. This went well. Peep took out the Feraligatr in a close battle.
Ramelia was able to take most of the Haunter's HP in one hit before its own Curse knock it out.
- Tried to use Peep to take out the Wheezing in the Executive Proton fight, but she didn't quite finish it off.
Gorb was able to finish the job and pick up some much needed XP.
- Executive Ariana fight happened.
- Peep managed to take on and beat the Houndoom in the Executive Archer fight.
Ramelia took on the Koffing, but was 6 or 7 levels behind it. She took it down to half-health and Sync III finished it off.
- De-Rocketing of the radio tower complete.
- Began grinding to get Gorb more levels
> GORB: Ghastly -> Haunter
- Checked happiness values and the whole team was at the highest level.
- Put Gorb in the daycare center to get him levels while working on others.
- Did all the trainer battles on Route 44 and started down the Ice Path
- Took a photo with Cameron in the icy cave. Zuma was in the party instead of Gorb.
- Made it to Blackthorn City, flew back to Goldenrod to get Gorb from the daycare.
- Got the Soft Sand from Santos in Blackthorn.
The level disparity between my party Pokemon has gotten particularly spread out.
Sync III is at level 43, Peep is at 35, and the rest haven't made it past level 30.
I'm not sure if I should grind before attempting Claire's gym or just go with the classic strategy of having one extremely powerful Pokemon to blow through the gym.
Given the build of my party, my best odds rest with Ramelia, whose Normal typing and moveset would be least affected by the Dragon-type's resistances.
I don't remember the Ice Path feeling so long. It wasn't actually that long, but all the wild encounters really made it add up.
I tried catching a Delibird, but it didn't work out. That would probably help with the Dragon gym if I can't get it on my first attempt.
I think my plan will be to train up Ramelia in the Ice Path and try to catch a Delibird in case it doesn't work out.
